@Glimmerdagg: i have that same question too since i have the same card as you…am thinking of upgrading to a 6850 this december…or save up some more pennies and go 6870

  11. stri90i says:

@HardwareCanucks I have a 5770 1GB DDR5 and im thinking of buying the 6850 or 6870, is it a great difference between them or are they "the same" and should I rather spend my money on a 5800/5900 series?

@Glimmerdagg Sorry for the slow reply. Yes the Corsair 550W is a great PSU. It will be able to handle the 6870. Though if you intend on overclocking your system (both your CPU and GPU) you may need to tread a little carefully.

@Extremeupoader4 The Antec 550W would be a great PSU to pair with the 6850. PCIe 2.1 has the same "speed"/ bandwidth support as PCIe 2.0. They are very similar, just PCIe 2.1 borrowed some features from PCIe 3.0

@kwebber1234 Yes. There will be a quality loss due to going from digital > analog, but the display will still be very good and the graphics ‘quality’ will still be the same.

Actually, NCIXcom recently did a video on different display connections. It was a very good video and informative.
