haha, that processor overclocks like crazy! mine is at ~3.7 ghz with the STOCK COOLER. the highest temp I have ever had was somewhere around 55~c but that was after various stress-tests in the summer when it was almost 30c outside. usually I get temps like 45-50

@tricccple Do you think getting more ram would possibly help?

  6. tricccple says:

@toasterwizard94 perhaps some settings isn’t right, like if the ram is actually at 800mhz or HT Link speed etc. proper driver installation, there’s alot to consider

I’ve really not heard much bad about MSI though, they get constant praise on the forums i go to (XtremeSystems, AMDZone), the product lineup gets solid reviews etc. I’ve never heard them being referred to as a budget brand.

I’ve not had any experience myself so i can’t comment from personal experience.

    That’s fair enough :)

I used to have brand preference but not anymore. I’ve had hardware from Gigabyte, ASUS, Coolermaster, Kingston, Sony, Samsung, Seagate, Western Digital etc. fail and they’re all supposed to be top tier. Yet I’ve at times I’ve had budget hardware that’s ran fault free.

If it gets good reviews that’s all that matters IMO

Easy, personal experience gave me that impression. MSI, in my book, sucks. They are on par with 3rd Tier companies like ASRock and ECS in my book. And saying one motherboard is good in their line up is meaningless to me. Like someone smarter than myself once said "Even a busted watch is correct twice a day." So having one or two "good" products in their line up really does not impress. But to be completely fair, if your on a shoe string budget its OK. As are the other brands I mentioned.
