hey, thanks for the great videos man! im running an EVGA 750i FTW with this exact CPU. so i was able to effectively OC it up to the 3.825 with no problems! im getting a new cooler for it just in case, but its all good. :) i ran OCCT with the stock on and it got up to 60 tops. kinda high, but nothing serious. Thanks again!

  2. ChimpMilitia says:

Thank you for this video, it has been very helpful for me. I have the same processor and motherboard and have overclocked to 3.6 on stock voltages. OCCT confirms this is stable after running it for an hour. Would I need to adjust any voltages if I were to enable linked & synced? Is there any benefit to running it in lnked and synced mode?

  3. aleksandrhall says:

I just overclocked my rig using your vids as a guide. I’m using the 750i, but with a q6600 2.4. I oc’d to 3.0. I set all my voltage stuff to the highest green settings, hopefully thats not a bad thing. Will update later after stress test.

hey sweet video, thanks man. one thing though you didn’t mention that in realtemp you need to adjust the tjmax for the e8400 to 95 instead of the default to get a proper reading

    Hi! my specs:

    Asrock P45 DDR3
    quad core q8400 2.66GHz
    9800GTX+
    2GB DDR3(1033mhz)

Can i overclock my cpu from 2.66GHz to 3.2 GHz with stock voltage?

  6. mirageH1992 says:

Can you run a E8400 @ 3.6 Ghz with stock voltage?

I got an E0 revision with good cooling
(43 degrees celsius load on 3 ghz)

  7. UchihaDark38 says:

but i am running 4.15 GHZ for over a year by now but its running on 1.52 volts
and its still working without any problem

  8. smartass23t says:

wow very interesting video’s. I am seriously considering building my own computer soon using this motherboard. I do want to overclock my cpu but probably just to 3.0.

  9. UchihaDark38 says:

mine is running on 1.5785 v and overclocked @ 4,22 ghz its running without any prob and the temps are okay these prosessors are indestructable XD

Because my CPU is kindof little bit hot with 100 loaded 48c on real temp

  11. tRUEaMErICAN1103 says:

Hi I have e0 one can I use lower CPU voltage other than 1.325? Like 1.2…

  12. tjharlow says:

i would check it with Real Temp program and make sure to stress test it with Prime95

  13. tRUEaMErICAN1103 says:

Hi I just finished my e8400 overclock to 3.825 and running 28 c idel 48c load stable but I woudering is this normal because I’m using speedfan. My spec antec 1200 e8400 zalman 9900 750i ftw 4gb ram evga gtx260sli

hey tj. I got the same FTW and was wondering on how to make the voltages for 4ghz.

ive tried using 1.500V for the CPU but it crashes.

should i lower the clocks for my ram or something

you can try lowering the voltage a bit until it gets unstable then raise it a level. 57 is "ok" as long as your under 70 your find and I like to keep it under 60 at full load on LGA 775 so your fine.

hey man, awesome vid, just overclocked my 780i board, e8400 to 3.6, but with the voltage you did for this vid. The max temp that i got was 57 and i was wondering was that too high? If so, what voltage would you recommend for a 3.6 oc. Thx

    Hey Tj, very informational video!

Quick question: When overclocking would you normally just jump right from the cpu stock speeds to your OC speed if you knew the cpu was capable of the OC?

Because I have a q6700 with an EVGA 780i SLI motherboard. My goal is 3.4 for the time being. This seems well within the range of the q6700 so do you think I should just adjust my speed from 2.66 (stock speed) to 3.4 and then figure out the voltages?

    Should I do baby steps?

    Thanks for the help.
