The Ultimate CPU Overclocking Guide!
www.tweaktown.com Its funny the things you find when taking a minute out of your busy CES schedule to admire some of the fantastic views that Las Vegas has to offer. During our visit to the MSI suite at the lovely Aria hotel today, we spotted an upcoming MSI motherboard called the Big Bang Conqueror just sitting around which we believe is based around the AMD 990FX chipset. This chipset will support future AM3+ processors from AMD and it will be AMDs top dog for overclockers and gamers. While we didnt get too many details on the chipset itself, from looking at the board itself we could make quite a few assumptions. The first and third blue PCI-E graphics slots will operate at 16 lanes for full speed AMD Crossfire support and the memory setup uses a standard dual-channel DDR3 configuration. As far as the MSI specific details go, we see the addition of the new Military Class II, OC Genie, SATA 6G, USB 3.0 and more. Distributed by Tubemogul.

@R4Zy3L The beauty of AMD is the fact that they keep to the same socket design, you will be able to use AM3 CPU’s in these new AM3+ motherboards, and it’s only because it’s an entirely new CPU that we don’t see the ability to put Bulldozer CPU’s in AM3, but this was possible with AM2 and AM2+, With AMD upgrading is easy, something we don’t see much of from intel without having to get an entirely new platform.
@alynr1972
everything is USB now and HDs are SATA II and III you can’t get rid of SATA II CD/DVD players still use that No cd/dvd drivers are SATA III
@Zraupp10 What I wanted to say is that the motherboard producer doing good by get rid of useless slots like ATA or Floppy.I’m not sorry for them… Old tehnology must make place for the new one.
@alynr1972
who uses floppys ?
@utubeb14
no way, i don’t think soo I don’t think they will do that, they should have SATA II(3GB per sec) and SATA III(6GB per sec) unless you can put SATA II in a SATA III, not every1 has SATA III
Finaly, these motherboards don’t have ATA or Floppy connector. Very good job AMD for that Chipset. Waiting for Buldozer to crash Intel factory
@Zraupp10 um…. all 6 ports are sata3
no SATA 6GB per sec ????
wow… The AM3+ socket looks a lot like the AM2 socket. O_o
i swear to god that dude sounds like arnold.
@h4xmode integrated graphics processor* its put into your mobo so that ur mobo can display some stuff on ur moniter in absence of a graphic card its like inboard gpu
and here you can see the killswitch which is located right next to the DRM that goes with your cpu…. oh whats that? no killswitch or DRM? oh right, this is amd, not intel.
@utubeb14 forget about the pcie slots just noticed the pins, layout is perfect.
i know its not the final board but I like the looks nice heatsinks not to huge, but would you for dual ethernet. move the second pcie down one and then stick the pci in the last slot
@h4xmode
IGP only comes with the 990GX mobo (IGP on mobo). So you not pay for a worthless IGP.
The IGP orgasm will com with Fusion Llano (~HD5570 or 4-5 times HD5450/SB)
Those are some professional looking heatsinks. I wonder if MSI goes with another color scheme aside from blue/black this year?
I hope you took that home
@h4xmode There are none on FX boards. These boards are for people who want to use 3 or 4 way cross fire with discrete video cards and do not want a integrated GPU on their board.
NICE
Las Vegas is screwed… thousands of homeless living in the tunnels under the city..
You giving the geeks a bad name, why it can’t be a bunch Vegas show girls
What weird place to have a motherboard!
AM3+
Yahoo were getting closer to bulldozer time!
