@Talanov98765 Thats ok. My laptop stays around 60-70 while playing.

Just gonna say overclocking anything in a Laptop is a bad idea -_-, ventilation and heat in a small case…

  3. Talanov98765 says:

is it normal temperature of GPU 30-60 ??pls reply

  4. Dilzabro says:

    i have 2 8600gt’s in my desktop

  5. jantsi123 says:

    i have 8600gt too, crysis runs medium/high on 1024×768 with 20-60fps

    ooh sorry my bad XD

  7. xmodrock says:

    512 DDR3 :-)

  8. bog98 says:

    yea but ddr2 :P thats 256 mb ddr3

even with no OC I get up to 95C in cod4 online with my EVGA 8600GTS SSC. So you can go pretty high with temperature, but the GTS has a better heatsink so idk

My 8600 GT has a built in cooler, it is nesscessary to get a new cooler?

  11. bajachicken says:

uh, when i open Rivatuner it says that the display drivers need to be updated or else it wont work properly ??
and my rivatuner version doesnt look the same as yours even when i used your link

  12. xmodrock says:

    mine has 512MB of memory

  13. bajachicken says:

just wondering can you actually break your GPU if you set your core and mem too high? if so how long would it take?
also is there a certain temp you need to keep it under??

Hi, Uh Mine Says "No Supported Drivers For This Display Adapter"?

which software did you use to test the fps increment?? becauses generaly when you are overclocking you GPU and don’t get any fps improvement the your bottleneck is the CPU.. games like GTA4, Silen Hill Homecoming.. and so other bad ported games from consoles, need at least core 2 duo @ 2.4 Ghz to run decently and well faster is better in that cases… other games like Crysis you can see a big improvement in fps overclocking the GPU

oh btw, its the NX8600GT, not the m, i have it in my pc, not a laptop:P but yes i dragged them both up and monitered them with rivatuner, no overheating, because as soon as i clocked it to 100, it froze, and went fuzzy, but when i did 50, it got about 3 extra frames, barely noticable :(

I see, did you were monitoring the temperature of the GPU and CPU? maybe you can get an extra cooler to gain some extra MHz… and try to find in google how much is the avarage overclocking of the GDDR2 version of 8600M GT, me for example i am trapped under 900 MHz while other users can over 920MHz

ok lol i was just in short time, and didnt have enough time to explain, i clocked it to 100+ and as soon as i did it, the screen went fuzzy, and froze my pc (so i restarted), and i did it 3 times, the best was +50Hz and i didnt knotice much of a difference, then +100Hz, and it shat itself, any suggestions?

How did you knew the computer everheated? did you get a blue screen? did your computer auto restart?.. if you saw artifacts is a frecuency problems and not an overheating problem if … if you are getting a temperature lower than 100°C while playing then thats fine =)

i know, i have the DDR2, but it wont clock to as high settings as this, but i tried clocking it to 100 over the factory settings, overheated immediately, so im gonna play it safe from now :P
