@mastax1234 I wouldnt cry yet, as long as it works some times. The wrt54g has very small memory so a hard reset and cold reboot might striaghten the old girl out. Reset ALL TO DEFAULT NO SECURITY, and retest. I would allso pop the case off and give light dusting to ensure no dust bridged ic.

  2. mastax1234 says:

@ROCKNTV1 repeater bridge mode, but earlier i changed it to client bridge and it work now, i think my router is slowly dying, because ive owned my wrt54g for 5 years now

  3. ROCKNTV1 says:

@mastax1234 hmm, ok are you in repeater bridge mode or client mode?

  4. mastax1234 says:

@ROCKNTV1 i checked on the site, i have the latest firmware available

  5. ROCKNTV1 says:

@mastax1234 I belive their might be an upgrade for that by now, that should be a straight forward DD-WRT replacement firmware. mANY wireless router help files on the site in the description, you can try these first. sub / rate

  6. mastax1234 says:

    @ROCKNTV1 im using DD-WRT v24-sp2 (10/10/09) micro

  7. ROCKNTV1 says:

@mastax1234 sup.. thats not good, which version of the wrt54g are you running and firmware?

  8. mastax1234 says:

please help whenever i set my tx power even above 80 on wrt54g it wont reconnect with the neighbors router and my pc says a network error(i use a wireless bridge connection with permission)

  9. ROCKNTV1 says:

@svenXDsven I dont know if that router is supported by dd-wrt or does overclocking with the added wifi output power increase like the wrt54g-tm with extra memory and signal boosting

  10. ROCKNTV1 says:

@svenXDsven the power brick for the wrt54g-tm was 1.3 amps 12 v i think and the new ones are 1.5. You can take the top off the router and check for power at the header to eliminate the jack.

  11. svenXDsven says:

@ROCKNTV1 Yes, i had an another power brick with the same specs and it won’t work.

  12. ROCKNTV1 says:

@svenXDsven have you tested the power brick?

  13. svenXDsven says:

mine is broken, it had a power shock :S (280v), it works for a few seconds but then it turns off.

@tqrules AGREED, but, the wrt54g-tm router with DD-WRT installed, and configured properly has 5 usable lan ports buit in that are much more efficient at routing then the system you describe as they are dedicated hardware, an to say the least of power consumption. Honestly as i say in the video for my purpose the overclocking feature is a bit of novelty, bit the ability to adjust and increase the output power of the wifi radio, far out weighs the system you describe.

i think overclocking a router is bull if you really wanna have a heavy duty router just buy a mini atx mobo with cpu and gpu onboard gett a old hard drive put your own router software on it that you like and plug in some ethernet / wifi cards in em and go with the flow

@THEFIXERification yEAH times change, I currantly run the wrt54g-tm mildly overclocked without the heat sink in a repeater bridge config with a linksys wrt160nl with encryption on both ends ie: wireless ap and virtual inter face in the house to have both g and N standards available. The added output power of the radio in the wrt54g-tm is only nessary when long distance is required as the added power tends to add noise on the channels if its not necessary. And I have never need overclocking

@THEFIXERification Thanks for stopping in, Yeah man, those are good specs, but the WRT54G-TM that i am running here does all that plus the replaceable antennas.
(SUB ). wrt54g-tm dot blogspot dot com , plus with the broadcom cpu we can run AFTERBURNER instead of the standard Linksys speedbooster. If you wanted to put external high gain on CHECK OUT THIS SITE wrt54g-tm dot blogspot dot com

    very informative.

dd-wrt wont let me overclock my DIR-615, but it runs at 384 anyway lol
and its a ralink SoC. transmit power is at 130mw, 70 more than standard, but at least twice as good.

so far, DD-WRT is awesome. it has turned one of my most despised routers (had about 14, from various brands, d-link has been the only one to hold up until recently. a dir-635), into probably the best.

@fuge805 admin admin is stock,,, but
on the webby interface , and root / admin on ssh
by the way you should prob not set the router to usew 192.168.2.1 as if you are repating this is the standard subnet for belkin and netgear wirless
// could con fuse the situation
