I used fraps to record this video, so there is an additional lag of 3-4 fps. I usually get 10-11fps or so. Contig.exe has been used for better performance. All the latest patches v.1.0.2.0 are applied. If there is a way that I can still improve the performance on my PC..please help!! Distance drawing tweak (farclp) in timecyc.dat does not work for me…Please help if I can improve the performance…

@09Zufar well, it’s been almost 2 years since the port. I think Rockstar’s updates and the patches you find along the way may help improve the framerate. Of course, it won’t get the Atom machine to get constant 30 fps. But it’s worth mentioning. So far, I was able to make GRiD playable on an Atom + ION machine, but it was barely playable. Maybe one more year will be needed. If Intel does not launch a better architecture, VIA should develop a dual-core Nano. The problem is the poor FPU power.
@JackBandicootsBunker Too right mate, but the chances of getting playable frame rates are below 50%. but who cares, gta4 was badly ported to pc anywayz
@09Zufar I’d still give it a try. The problem with Dual-core Atoms is the lack of 2Ghz versions. But ION 2 and the RAM the latest nettops have are enough. Unless you have more data about the Atom’s FPU power, I’d still think of a remote possibility of running GTA IV.
@JackBandicootsBunker the game will lag like hell on an intel atom. atom is just designed for daily works and maybe casual gaming
the next objective is to test this game with a Intel Atom 330, 2GB RAM and nVIDIA ION, someone try that
How much FPS Could I get in this game with AMD Athlon X2 3.0GHz, 2GB DDR2 800MHz RAM, 8400GS 512MB?
@flatout2ful Wow…sorry but it isn’t very likely, and even if it runs, it will most likely run like sh*t…my advice: get a dual core 2.6 ghz or more, at least, a video card with at least 512 MB (if possible, 1GB) and at least 2 GB ram
@vectoronic naa men i use amd fusion and ittts better than game booster i get like 8 fps+ with amd fusion
or u could get game booster made by iobit. but the amd utility is probably better
if u just had a better processor like a athlon x2 at maybe 2.4 ghz which i think cost about 40 $ now, this would run smoothly with the graphics pretty much on high. i get about 25-39 and sometimes 40+ fps on my system, same graphic card a little over clocked and a extra fan put on it, 1 gig of ram, and a athlon 64 x2 6000+ overclocked to 3.4 Ghz. it runs very nicely, even though it says u need 2 gigs of rams.

hey this work very goodd if you have amd.download a tool called amd fusion utility its a utility that close programs and things tha makes your games laggy and includes a program called amd boost. you cAN GET a 20% better fps works very good with me
