I forgot to add, in some tests ive seen that 2×6870 outperforms a single 580 while costing slightly less. But yeah, of course 2×580 would outperform everything but it would also cost quite a bit. Just thought it was worth mentioning that 2×6870 is slightly cheaper than one 580 and they do perform better.

  2. huldu says:

The 580 is more expensive tho. Is the price really worth the little bit extra you get. That is the question. I dont even understand the difference between 6870 and 6970, the 6970 has 1 more gib of memory and the 6870 only has 1 gig? Things was easier back in mid 90′s with the 3dfx 12mb!

    @TxXViciadoXxT
    TDP IN AMD HIGH POWER
TDP IN NVIDIA AVERAGE POWER ;)
    6970 in average is lower.

  4. BatGu4rD says:

@FallenYggdrasil Personally with ATi I go with Sapphire. Nvidia I’d go with MSI. My current 480 is an EVGA. For my RMA they gave me so much trouble and never answered things they said I did (as if it never happened) once I asked. Personally, I’ve had too many issues with EVGA and know too many people who have so never going with them again.

But that’s just me. You might prefer Gigabyte or ASUS for instance, just have to research in-depth about it.

  5. TxXViciadoXxT says:

    TDP 580=244
    TDP 6970=250

    AMD low power????

  6. FallenYggdrasil says:

Thanks! By the way which is that band we can hear in background? Sounds great! Which brand for videocards you prefer: BFG, Asus, Saphire, XFX…?

  7. eltiernit0 says:

@skimowhite586 Radeon only makes lower end gaming/low power consuming cards because its the only way it won’t get put out of business by Nvidia. It’s smart too because not everyone is a high end gamer. But for high end gaming Nvidia is better because of their quality, consisent-performing, beast tesellation products and radeon is for playing pac man.

  8. ruggbutt says:

Someone tell this idiot that with higher power consumption comes better performance. Same thing with race cars and firearms.

  9. skimowhite586 says:

@leerman22 plus like i sayed power consumption and heat are a factor too read my comments on page

  10. skimowhite586 says:

@eltiernit0 it would and same with your power bill and catch the graphics card in smoke because it can not take the heat, dude 1 gtx 480 reaches 101c emagine two of them, the reason amd make them weaker its beacuse more people will buy cheaper products that use less electricity and save the hastle of power bill for the cost of like 5 fps in a game seriosly amd sell more cards than amd thats the truth beacause computer makers like dell want cheaper cards that are more realiable

  11. skimowhite586 says:

clearly if you buy nvidia its because you have a lot of money and like killing the planet with its over power consuming they should not be allowed to have green as their logo amd is more power friendly not to mention nvidia cost a whole lot more to run in power so you will save getting new psu power bill save the planet a bit more and save money buying graphics card

  12. skimowhite586 says:

@iGeeklander i think buying nvidia is a waste of money if you can get it for a lower price and get near performance and save you power bill in other words the nvidia will cost you 20 percent more wichin is 100 dollars a year more than amd 6970 so ha its not about who is the best its about the price and how good they are in heat price and power consumption and plus amd sells more cards for those reasons so if you buy nvidia its beacuse you have a lot of money and are a nvidia fan boy me hd 6850

  13. eltiernit0 says:

Nvidia just needs a dual gpu on a single card but I bet they feel sorry for AMD its why they don’t do it lol. Im sure a dual gpu gtx 580 would murder all AMD.

  14. leerman22 says:

@eltiernit0 i don’t think going with a $500 card is worth it, the human eye cant tell the difference between 60fps and 120fps. if you where to go with 3D then it would. (I think NVIDIA 3D Vision forces V-sync on to the monitor’s 120Hz)

  15. eltiernit0 says:

What’s ironic is that to date RAdeon’s cards have always have erratic benchmarks unlike Nvidia who’s performance is always consistent. Just goes to show the quality of the chips and architecture design. Nvidia will always have the single gpu single card crown. Radeon never comes close on this, The only way they can compete is having a dual gpu single card solution. Thumbs up if you agree.

@motherboardsorg . thnkyou for gr8 video .. please can u advise of when the offical release of 6990 is?an specs

I’ll SLI with the GTX 580

  19. mbe102 says:

@centrihd On 10.11 and I’m doing just fine. If you don’t have an Radeon, how do you know the Driver Configs aren’t working? From hear say? I could tell you the sky was made out of cotton candy, and unless you saw for yourself, you’d have no way of proving otherwise. Don’t be a Sheep man. If you can’t drop the dime, get more than one opinion.

  20. mbe102 says:

I like how you take price into account. Doesn’t matter how fast it is if you can’t afford it, high numbers or not, its not like the end-user will see the benefit if it breaks the bank.

  22. mike19371937 says:

@futmut1000 6970 is actually slightly faster. You give a bit too much credit to Nvidia. Paying like $20 less doesn’t give Nvidia an edge over price to performance.

  23. JusticeYouWant2010 says:

@kubuxx1551 I meant 6970 is faster than the 580 playing Just Cause 2, but any how I would prefer a 6870 over a 580 any day, even if a 580 was 5 times as fast. Nvidia they are still around, good for them!
