Check out this site where it’ll show you a cool trick that actually TRIPLES your PC’s performance!
The Ultimate CPU Overclocking Guide!
In this episode of NCIX Tech Tips, Linus will be doing an extensive renovation to one of the coworkers PC to bring down the CPUs overheating problem the machine is experiencing.

Did I see Linus forgot to put back the graphic card?

@SanCo654 it seems wrong to me too…i dont see any mesh under the psu spot, so obviously the fan should be facing up to pull air

just got a coolermaster 690 II advanced. i had a very old case, and my cpu was running 50 degrees at idle and 84-85 at full load.
with the new case i am running 33 degrees at idle and no more than 60 at full load with the stock cpu cooler…really big difference

Are you sure it’s ok to place the PSU with the fan down, I have the same case it says in the instruction that the fan should be up. Reason for asking is because I want to do the same, but not sure if it’s gonna get to warm or not.

dude my cpu runs over 100….
its ok

surely this is a bit of a pisstake, who would put an i7EE in a case like that ??

holy crap!!!! 100C not "F" Im running 72F 22C with a 30 Dollar Cpu Cooler and artic silver 5and OC’d from 2.66Ghz To 3.2GHz (Amd Athon ii x4 620 Quad Core) XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 Running At 26-34C Full Load And My Case Was $10 And Old Maybe U Should Keep the room temp at like 70F not 90F

Free Energy is real and it’s here but the coverup is strong, if u r interested in a REAL free energy magnet motor
just go to LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM and download the blueprints ,it’s probably the ONLY working magnet
motor out there. Join the free energy revolution!!

@HookEchoMedia yeah, i solved the problem with an ASUS EN8400GS silent graphics card.It has no fan but an other cooling system, looks like an airco (no sound at all!). And the best of all , it’s great for overclocking, my graphics card is build for 1.6 ghz, but i can overclock it SAFE (and without liqued nitrogen for cooling :p) upto 2.3 ghz and it doesn’t burn up. btw i heared some japanese guys can overclock their CPU from 2.0 ghz to 5.1 ghz with liqued nitrogen as cooling :O

@gaspeli: Try re-applying either with the "line method" or thinly spread it using a plastic bag or a old credit card.
It’s seems as though with quad core processors it’s better to use the line method as the thermal paste can spread and cure across the entire die covering all cores.
Start with re-applying your thermal past, use the good stuff, your investment is worth it!

@HookEchoMedia exhaust/intage fan directons are right.dotn think so i have a new motherboard.yep all cores run this hot.thermal paste dotn know so right will look.

@ienes2: Some graphics cards don’t come with a heat sink fan combo and might not be available on the market. I have found that lightly zip tie-ing an 80mm or 90mm fan to the heat sink helps. I have found that have the fan direction blowing in the heat sink to be the most effective.
There are usually gaps within the heat sink that allow it secure the fan to the heat sink. I did that to an older 9400 GT and dropped GPU temps around 15-20c.

@NCIXcom: Yup… not to mention an H50 won’t work on an older case that doesn’t have a 120mm rear exhaust fan mount.

@fullwithlove: Not all fans a re designed the same, period! I have had some of the best luck with Silenx and Antec fans. Replace the fans, it’s cheap.
As for the screen going blank, well I would say it could be the cable, mobo, OS or a graphics card issue. Are you running it on VGA, DVI or HDMI?

@gaspeli: Might want to try using Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste, check exhaust/intake fan direction. It could also be a faulty temp sensor.
Do all the cores run this hot?
What thermal paste application method did you use?

the Antec Three Hundred is a phenomenal case, def. built for a modding.
I use the Cooler Master Hyper N520… I prefer a dual fan flow thru design.
I have considered doing V-Blogs for all the modding and upgrades I have done… hmmm… ideas! lol

i had that problem to, my fan was hanging UNDER my graphics card. Result: the fan broke off and my card burned up

hey do you think this is a good temp for q6600 OC 3.0ghz on cm 690 ii advance cpu heatsing = COOLERMASTER hyper 212 +
the temp on idle is around 30-35 *C
and FULL load 47-50 *C?
I have 2 120mm fans on top for exhaust 1 120mm fan on bottom for intake and then the heat sink got push and pull fans and all the stock fan on cm690ii and also i have one 120mm fan on the side panel.
