  2. epizowningyou says:

    OH omg.
    I’m very sorry , I mistyped HT from SpeedStep >_> . I just forgot the meaning in the time I wrote the comment, but I realised Hyper threading is virtualizing cores. Sorry XD

  3. jimmymagnum07 says:

    i bought this in a bundle with a amd 635 quad core 2.9ghz thinking it would unlock it to 6 cores or 8 cores and it just never….

    @midnit19
    Its propably power save

    @epizowningyou

    Cool ‘n Quiet. is nothing like Hyper Threading.

    Hyper Threading is Intel’s implementation of simultaneous multithreading
    – feature currently non existent on any of AMD CPU’s.

    Asrock is being agressive these days, and ppl are saying their boards are good, but I am still skeptical tbh.

  6. epizowningyou says:

    @clawbog2 Like Hyper Threading lol.

  7. epizowningyou says:

    @midnit19 It’s Hyper Threading… It reduces the core speed to save power…

  8. atlantis2255 says:

    is this board micro atx ?

  9. amirulescool says:

    Well the speed of CPU Drops too 800mhz cause AMD setting the processor to balance state in factory setting maybe for electricity value. The mhz goes up to max when you’re doing heavy applications like gaming, 3d animation or stuffs that heavy but you can set the CPU to max ghz for all time using amd fusion utility to let the ghz become 2.8 eternally xD

  10. JingleBerries11 says:

    YES!

  11. clawbog2 says:

    @midnit19 If I am not mistaken, that is a result of AMD Cool ‘n Quiet.

  12. asdHeyB says:

    er… so if you don’t have the UCC utility or whatever it is, you can’t unlock all the cores?

  13. siemniak says:

    @midnit19
    I’ve got the same thing when i use ASrock IES, it coudl be that.

  14. jbisana17 says:

    why did the core speed drop to 801.6???overclocking or under clocking???

  15. TheGhosthorror says:

    @Only10Bucked

    lol you

  16. oVFBoFOREVERo says:

    @suckmythach
    There’s no risk for other hardware
    The only thing, what could happen is, that the activation is not successful and you keep your X3 CPU but it’s not crashing your CPU or so…

  17. suckmythach says:

    is this safe for all hardware configurations? i dont want my hardware to break on me

  18. Muskickyoass says:

    that is amazing does it work on x4

  19. Only10Bucked says:

    lol fagasian

  20. stevent888 says:

    @midnit19 its called AMD cool n quiet, it clocks back to save energy when idle

  21. HollyTheWood says:

    I need a quad core, If I buy a dual core and the disabled cores are malfunctioning -_-’, will you give me money back?

  22. safapresley says:

    Don’t get ya self wet, asian guy!

  23. fireicer says:

    The reason the core is shutdown is because there is a fault with the extra core usually if you unlock the core you are playing with chance you may get lucky or not that the core will be stable.
