what does turbo means??(3,6ghz with turbo)?

  2. YmCmbZ says:

    so 4053 Mhz @ 1.464 V on a crosshair iv formula.

    can i try that clock?

  3. dethklok1989 says:

so you wont even need a video card to play most games?

  4. black03cummins says:

@wangf004 really? ok i will give that a try. i bought the ram that was listed in motherboard book as being compatible. i guess how would i check the hard drive? also what would be the benefit of a SSD drive? just speed?
thanks for help. i really appreciate it.

  5. wangf004 says:

@black03cummins it might be ur 8GB, try 4GB, cus sometimes when AMD rig has 8GB ram it will be unstable. And also make sure your ram is fully compatible with the motherboard and not running out of specs. next is to make sure ur harddrive is working properly.

  6. black03cummins says:

hey i just built your LEO platform and went with everything as you did except i didnt get the SSD drive and i went with 8GB of the same ram. i got it all put together and running and now windows keeps getting the blue screen and locks up all the time. do i need that SSD drive in order to run this system? or is the 8GB ram doing it?

@800hennessy I did not get the CPU yet, I should get it in a few days or so. As for me picking it over the Intel counter part, I picked it up for the six-core technology for the price. I would have gotten the i7 due to the things I’ve heard about their six cores, its just their CPUs are too expensive for me at this time. And I haven’t gone through enough computers with Intel processors to be able to say which I think is better, but based on the computers I went through, both companies are great.

  8. DeltaPhi79 says:

@aLieNcrYse It actually oughta be a little hotter since it’s 6 cores and not 4… The voltage if you’ve left it alone should be around 1.0 – 1.3 volts… If not, I suggest you do. 58ºC is actually right in the middle of the max operating temps that AMD gives. I’ve read online and it said the 1090T is fine between 55ºC and 62ºC.

  9. aLieNcrYse says:

@DeltaPhi79 CoreTemp tells me: lowest is 15, idle is 25+ maybe more or less. But when I run prime95 the vcore goes to 1.5! my setting is at 1.46(1.47) but it goes to 1.5 on full load :S then the temps goes to 58c after 2min’s! When i had the phenom ii 945 OC i did not get these temps. I got 20c idle and 40 at max then..

  10. 800hennessy says:

@TheBloodRedX I’m looking at that exact same deal and it sure looks much better than the comparable I7 extreme by Intel for $1000…..do you like the CPU and do you have any personal preference over Intel or anything like that?

  11. DeltaPhi79 says:

@aLieNcrYse What temps are you getting?

  12. TheBloodRedX says:

I just ordered one off of newegg and it recently had a price drop down to $230 (along with the other amd six cores) so I thought now would be a great time to upgrade everything.

  13. aLieNcrYse says:

    QQ:
I have the same settings as you, but when i run pime95 CPU-Z shows that it is on 1.5v core.. normally it says 1.476.
And the tempratures gets really high! I have the CoolIT ECO A.L.C cooler..
The thermal paste is akasa AK-455.

  14. fusion952 says:

I just bought this one. I hope it’s worth it. I better learn how to overclock, huh?

  15. lucnfs says:

@ehab007bob i5 runs a bit faster in current games but if you want to futureproof and have an unlocked multiplier get this, it will smoke games in the future

  16. Fenriswolf1349 says:

I have got to get one of these.

  17. SufferingSarge says:

@ehab007bob this its cheaper and you get that 6 cores.

  18. ehab007bob says:

    this one or i5 760 ?

  24. YmCmbZ says:

    whats a good clock/temp for a crosshair iv formula+1090t+nh-d14?

    and what volt?

  25. aLieNcrYse says:

@SSc0ut No problem man, we all make misstakes sometimes :D
