Dude, there is so much more stuff to overclocking a cpu than just raising the multiplier. nb frequency and voltage, vcore voltage, cpu tem, sometimes is better to lower the multiplier and increase the bus, it overclock the ram too… increasing the multiplier alone will not give you a noticeable increase in performance.

I have Phenom 2 X2 550BE and my max multiplier is still 15.5.How to set ratio to higher than 15.5 ? Thanks.

  3. BDtechnical says:

@n1pples624 Like I said at the beginning of the video everyone’s motherboard is different. Which means you most likely don’t have the jumperfree cofiguration that that asus board had. Look through your mnaul for the motherboard or the bios and see if there is anything for "cpu overclocking", this should help.

i’m a big noob at overclocking so maybe you can help me out

I got a Amd Phenom 9850"BE"(says cpu-z) running on a Biostar 790gxe(mobo) with the latest bios update but still can’t find the jumperfree configuration, so my question is, is there another way up raising the multiplier through the bios???

  5. HHBones says:

@BDtechnical I feel your pain. I can’t get a stable OC without increasing the voltage, and I have to clear the CMOS every time I do, because somehow it makes it unstable. Go figure.

    thanks!!!!!

  7. BDtechnical says:

@HHBones For some reason the motherboard didn’t like it when i increased the voltage of the cpu so i left it as it was.

  8. HHBones says:

@Midnight6405 The stock coolers suck. Go at least with an aftermarket air cooler, or look into water cooling.

  9. HHBones says:

Why didn’t you increase the voltage @3.3Ghz?

Hi i have a AMD Phenom II x4 945 black edition and i have a corsair H50 cooler and i was woundering how high could i overclock ?? can i overclock

  11. rooopppi says:

    @BDtechnical
    Ok, thanks for answer

  12. BDtechnical says:

@rooopppi Yes you can, but i would recommend if you going to go above and beyond with your overclock for exaple to 3.0ghz and your planning on adding voltage to the cpu’s vcore I recommend you go with an inexpensive air cooler like the Tuniq propeller 120.

  13. rooopppi says:

Hey, I have original CPU cooler, but HWMonitor says my temperatures (both cores) are under 40 ALWAYS, even when playing crysis. My processor is AMD Athlon 7850. Can I overclock?

  14. BDtechnical says:

@Alexkumlin You would have to flash your bios to the current version whatever is the newest on your motherboard manufacturers website. Hope this helps.

  15. Alexkumlin says:

are you anyhow able to get the jumperfree configuration "installed" into the bios, if you don’t have it from the start. See I have Phenom X4 9950 BE, but I don’t have the jumperfree option, I know the motherboard has the ability to have it but it just don’t come with the original installation of the BIOS.

    great video anyhow

  25. S1lverspike says:

i got this cpu on my shelf somewhere i upgraded to the 7850be (stock 2.8) and will usually just run it at 3.0ghz. now my 5000+ could get up to 3.0ghz but i could never get it stable i guess it had something to do with the asus m2r32 mvp mobo they dropped support for it past vista so i got no luck using the bios updates or utilities in win 7 64
