LOL, I guess a LOT of people got this same CPU over black friday, haha. Me being one of them. I was able to unlock the 4th core, but it was getting too hot, in the high 70s C. So I had to buy an aftermarket cooler. I got this one for $30 from Newegg.com it had like 4000 reviews. It lowered a good 15 C. Now its stable and working fine. No L3 Cache, but whatever, a quad core competing with an i5. Not bad for $65

@DayGhost1000 ya ya true dat, i on the other hand play games online i need that fps to stay up…like starcraft 2…that game is hard to keep all setting at ultra and maintain 60 frame constant in big battle with like 200+ units…i bought a after market cooler too, so might as well OC, and your cpu is not gonna be 100% full load all the time…so the OC won’t harm..and even if it does…its a 65$ cpu…right now at 3.55ghz ..its nice

  3. DayGhost1000 says:

@Daren2007 Lol no i don’t intend on OCing its at a good stock speed and its performing ok its going good so far no problems if its not broken i’m not gonna fix it :P

  4. Daren2007 says:

Did u OC the CPU yet? I OC it to 3.55 and its stable cause i added alot of volts…but the temps are kinda high at max load at 66-68C…ppl say to stay below 70C so i am not gonna OC this cpu any higher…too bad i didn’t get L3 cache! oh well i bought the x3 445 for 65$ on black friday and got a quad…i also OC my gtx 460 to 905 core 2200 memory…!

@Daren2007 I know what happened to you i’m gonna PM you what is the reason for not having the lvl3 cache unlocked.

  6. Daren2007 says:

@DayGhost1000 i think i my cpu doesn’t have l3 cache i think, i unlocked it to b45 quad and stable but there is no l3 cache in zcpu…thanks for the reply…

  7. DayGhost1000 says:

@nigge2 Did u download and install CPU-z to get the info on the newly unlocked Phenom? or go into your BIOS and see if it says 6MB of cache?

  8. nigge2 says:

My athlon II X3 445 unlocked into PII X4 too but no L3 cache… I just changed the AsRock UCC and it was like that, is there anything else i need to change? My mobo is AsRock N68C-S UCC

  9. DayGhost1000 says:

@Daren2007 How do you know the 3rd lvl of cache was not unlocked? It did not show up in the BIOS? Did u install CPU-Z to find out if the lvl3 cache was unlocked? Give me details so i can help you:)

  10. Daren2007 says:

i unlocked my x3 445 to a b45 too but there was no l3 cache is there a way i can enable it? or if it doesn’t show up that mean theres none?

  11. DayGhost1000 says:

@nickdavijhon lol the only way to unlock the forth core is in the bios u said you wanted to see if u unlocked the 6MB of lvl cache too so i said to download cpu-z and you will see the specs of the newly unlocked phenom all levels of cache too. You can all so the cache size from the bios too.

  12. nickdavijhon says:

@DayGhost1000 actually, i haven’t downloaded anything, i was able to unlock from the bios. For some reason my bios had the option to unlock core.so where can i download that cpu-z?

  13. nikkolei says:

Thanks man this is real help imma go ahead now and try it :D

  14. DayGhost1000 says:

@nickdavijhon i think you already did download and install CPU-Z when i had the Athlon II X3 it was only 3×512=(1.5 Mb) of lvl 2 cache the 3rd slot was faded and empty but when i unlocked it to the phenom i reopened CPU-Z and the 3rd slot was saying 4X512= (6Mb) of lvl 3 cache.

  15. nickdavijhon says:

You are the man, i just unlock mine and it was pretty easy. But how do i unlock the level 3 cache?

  16. DayGhost1000 says:

@dexdervinzippo Yes i found posts that people have successfully unlocked the Phenom II X2 555 BE on a ma785gt-ud3h MOBO.

  17. dexdervinzippo says:

Oh great, but, im thiking now of buying Phenom II x2 555 BE for unlocking to @ 4 Cores, can i unlock it?

  18. DayGhost1000 says:

@dexdervinzippo Yes i have confirmation that the Athlon II X3 435 can be unlocked with 6 MB of lvl 3 cache.

  19. dexdervinzippo says:

when u do UCC feature L3 is unlocked too? or only with X3 445? cuz im gonna buy 435
