Check out this site where it’ll show you a cool trick that actually TRIPLES your PC’s performance!
The Ultimate CPU Overclocking Guide!

A little video briefly showing me constructing this PC. The machine is nothing special at all seeing that I am trying to save money but needed an upgrade from a single core pentium 4. Had a few problems with the camera I was using with the sound so you will run into that. He’s rough and tuff with his hardware.
I always treat my new hardware, like it’s some sort of diamond.
If it drops, it’ll smash… or something like that

    Anyways, thanks for the vid.

80gig, eh? hope it aint IDE, cuz if it is, thats a severe bottleneck right there. I have a 2nd rig with a 80GB maxtor IDE drive, and its slow as hell. it has acoustic management turned on, thats why, but I cant turn it off… need a floppy and some files which disappeared in 2006. Also: I dont have floppies anymore, so im stuck.

@coolgames14 quad cores suck. period. dualcores still own the gaming market since quad cores dont outperform them in any POPULAR games. and no, GTA IV isnt popular, its a fail.

@coolgames14 its a myth that quad cores are faster at playing games than duals. most games (except warcraft that can be played on most laptops anyway) take advantage of multi-cores. Warcraft can only use 3 cores.
Quad cores are only good for rendering and editing tasks compared to duals.

@coolgames14 wrong, no game requires more than a high end core2duo/i5 processor.

a core2duo E7600 will run any game you can get your hands on with a powerful enough graphic card.

@Lawnsu yep, I did my research and invested in a athlon ii x3 440

It uses all 3 cores in quad-core supported games (most are only use 2 of the physical cores)

so exactly like you said, when a game is being played, 9/10 it’s going to have a spare core for background applications.

people just want the biggest number of cores to shout out to there mate, be smart!

athlon ii x3 440 is about 50-70 pounds and can play anygame on the market at 60fps with a decent graphics card. puttin a 5770 in mine

for crying out loud, like i told u, game nowaday games rely on cpu power too, a dual core is an example of why ur FPS drop
