  2. WARFOX101 says:

    Average price for these cards on the Egg

    GTX580=$525
    AMD 6950= $300
    Two 6950 in crossfire= $600
    Two GTX570 in SLI = $700

    After seeing test results in scaling and bench marks for two 6950 against one 580 and two 570 sli i will go AMD again.

    @BBss19 Don’t say no risk. You have no idea what you’re talking about.

    Most of the time these 6950s have shaders and things disabled for a reason. They didn’t past the manufacturing test as a 6970, but rather then scrap the whole card, they disable some of the stuff and sell it as a 6950. Doing what’s on techpowerup right now can be dangerous. Sure there’s not immediate problems, but in a month expect to see tons of 6950s failing all of a sudden.

    You can take the risk, it’s up to you.

    @slyroad that what? $1000 vs $740? I was talking about the 6970CF vs GTX580 SLI that Elric said in the end of the video, to compare SLI vs CF ;)

  19. snedie69er says:

    @TheCommanderEddy

    Money is just a Bi-product of a business, and it’s only value is to help produce new innovative technologies that will keep it at the forefront of the market.

    If anything both companies would benefit in many ways with a merger. Both will have concepts that they cannot bring to fruition, but the other can. They both strive to be the market leader, with a merger they become leader by default, not to mention the added manufacturing capacity.

    Anyways, Merry Christmas :)
