yea all Processors have a FPU (floating point unit) its the register that processes math, as the main chunk of computing has become itenerations per second, and not caluclations.
Think of it as the central processors built in calculator,
Prime95 converts math seqences into binary itenerations, if your wondering about that.
but the new Shader Processing unit platforms on graphics cards, laughs in the face of what a central processor can do. even a quad core.

I believe all CPU’s do. I cannot talk about the architecture but I can say this AMD Phenom II 940 is a multitasking beats even with 4gb of RAM. I can run Prime95 and OCCT and still browse and edit photos and not lag. This chip is gonna make AMD very respectable again.

I bought it without finding this stuff out and now it lags really badly with all the setting on low, so could you tell me what i need to do to make it run better please? And my normal fps is 5.
